Sensei Clair
2nd kyu
Clair is the Clubs most senior female grade, having joined Threemilestone in June 2011 as a 3rd
kyu (Green belt).
Her membership of the BJC however spans 20 years, and includes periods spent at the old
Penwith club (now Penlee) and Redruth, where as a primary and junior, Clair progressed to Green
and 1 blue tab and competed regionally and nationally winning medals at the Welsh junior
nationals amongst others.
On returning to judo, Clair has resumed her love for contest judo. At the BJC nationals 2012,
Clair won Gold in the ladies U61 kg and continued her winning ways at the Bognor Summer
School., where a string of 4 Ippons saw Clair promoted to 2nd kyu.
Clair is currently training for the Southend International and BJC Closed nationals in October &
November
Outside the contest arena, Clair successfully completed her Level 1 coaching award in October
2011, and the Club leader award at the St.Ives Easter course.
Clair currently assists Sensei David running the Primary mat on a Saturday, and hopes to
undertake her Level 2 coaching awards this year.
Off the mat Clair is also the driving force behind developing the Club's social side, as a mother
of three with a youth work profession. she enjoys all aspects of judo on and off the Matt.
